NANCY PETER
Nancy Peter has been in the field of education for over 40 years. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Behavior; a Master of Education degree in Instructional Leadership; and a Doctor of Education degree in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership. Dr. Peter’s areas of expertise are nonprofit administration, STEM education, out-of-school time, professional development, and research and evaluation.
During her robust professional career, Dr. Peter served as the Director of Education at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University; Curriculum Manager for Philadelphia’s Fairmount Park Commission; Senior Policy Specialist for Youth and Afterschool in Philadelphia’s Office of Children’s Policy; Founder and Director of the Out-of-School Time Resource Center at the University of Pennsylvania; and Director of the McKinney Center for STEM Education at the Philadelphia Education Fund.
Nancy Peter was born and raised in Northwest Philadelphia, where she resides today. In her spare time, she horseback rides, gardens, plays the banjolele, fishes, and spends time with her husband and two sons.
